Independence will be the biggest question of our generation. Currently young people are going to be worse off than our parents generation: with rising unemployment, cuts to college and university funding/spaces, and lack of apperatenships. We are vital to winning the Yes vote in 2014 and we need to win this referendum with a progressive vision for Scotland which puts the future of our generation at it’s core.
Youth and Students for Independence is about creating a platform in which young people across Scotland can frame the debate, campaign and win the referendum in 2014.
The first meeting will shape our campaign and help us decide on the direction we want to take. It is crucual that as many young people as possible come together to make this a success.
We will hear from Women For Independence on their experiences in setting themselves up, discuss pressing upcoming issues such as the march and rally on 22nd September, the Radical Independence Conference on 24th November and break down into groups to discuss various elements of our own campaign.
Event details: 18:00-20:00, Tuesday 7th August 2012, downstairs of the Glasgow School of Art Union, 468 Sauchiehall Street.
